Location referencing: possibility to associate several location referencing systems for one location

The current DATEX II data model allows having several LRS simultaneously to describe a linear, area or point location. It may imply difficult interpretation if two methods are used that generate an irresolvable location.

The issue is not valid as it implements a requirement raised by stakeholders.

The status should be set to "by design"

The capability of DATEX II locations to give different encodings for the same location in different LRS has been a strongly phrased requirement and therefore been incorporated into the design of DATEX II deliberately. The interoperability concern stated in the issue is understandable, yet there is currently no European consensus to agree on one common LRS. The standard reacts on this by leaving the choice open to the users and supports mechanisms to create interoperability by creating profiles that are able to narrow down choices in commonly agree sub-schemas. These sub-schemas allow for avoiding the described problem amongst the users of the profile while maintaining compatibility with the full schema (and thus maintaining interoperability with all systems implemented against the full schema).
