New Version of DATEX II released!

On 1 July 2009, the DATEX II website at datex2.eu is being re-launched with a full range of new user support features. The website's appearance has been updated, but the most important news is that users can now actively participate in the DATEX II maintenance process. To make full use of the website, users are asked to register. Registration is free of charge and open to all, and the users' private data is of course fully protected and not handed to third parties.

Registered users have access to specification downloads and can participate in discussion forums dedicated to particular topics like extensions, standardization, etc. Users that have created DATEX II model extensions themselves are now able to upload these to the website and contribute their work to the standardization process. Operators of systems that provide content via DATEX II services can register and promote their systems via the website’s new directory of DATEX II services.

But the best is still to come! The new website now offers the download of the updated version of DATEX II to its registered users! This is the version that has incorporated all known bugs and issues reported since the launch of DATEX II in December 2006, and it is also the version that had been forwarded to CEN for the recently launched standardization of DATEX II. Read the DATEX II >>> Standardization section for more information. The official name of this version is DATEX II v2.0 Release Candidate 1. A second release candidate is expected for December this year, with the final release 2.0 to follow by mid 2010. This version will then comply fully with the first CEN Technical Specification documents, which are expected to be published in the second half of 2010.

Register now and take full benefit of this first publication of an improved DATEX II version, and participate in the DATEX II user community via the new interactive website. In case of questions or problems, don't hesitate to contact the DATEX II Helpdesk at helpdesk@datex2.eu .
